People Who Quit Smoking Happier Than Smokers Wisconsin Study Shows
In addition to living healthier, people have a better quality of life after quitting smoking. A study conducted at the University of Wisconsin shows that smokers remain unhappy compared to people who quit smoking as reported on today by Healthday and Good Morning America.
Assistant Professor of Medicine Megan Piper at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and its Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention reports that:
“If you thought you’d have more stress, that quitting would put more stress on your relationships, or that you’ll feel worse forever, that isn’t the case.”
Although the research didn’t address hypnosis for smoking cessation, the results reflect the personal accounts of clients who quit smoking at Capital Hypnosis Center.
The news report at Good Morning America goes on to say:
The findings don’t make specify how much of a difference quitting makes in percentage terms. Still, they show a definite gain, she said. Three years after stopping, study participants who had quit reported fewer stressors and improved mood compared to those who continued smoking.
Piper said she and her colleagues wanted to see if they could confirm assumptions about smokers feeling better after they quit and “put some science behind what everybody thinks is true.”
As you know, if you smoke it’s clear that now is the time to quit smoking. Avoid the difficulties of the methods you’ve tried before and discover something totally different.
